Conservation Assistance for LandownersDeer Herd Management for Georgia HuntersThis booklet is intended to serve as a source of general information for those with a casual interest in white-tailed deer, and not as a detailed guide for land managers. Opinions and Attitudes of Georgia Residents, Hunters, and Landowners Toward Deer Management in GeorgiaThis study was conducted for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GDNR) to determine the opinions and attitudes of the general population, hunters, and large landowners regarding deer management in Georgia. Georgia Piedmont Natural Resources CooperativeThe Georgia Piedmont Natural Resources Cooperative was established to promote the stewardship of natural resources across a broad landscape and reduce the loss of forest and farm land due to unmanaged urban growth. Bobwhite Quail in GeorgiaGeorgia’s quail population has declined by more than 70 percent since the early 1960's primarily due to loss of quality early succession habitat. Restoring this habitat type not only benefits quail, but also certain songbirds and other wildlife, improves water quality, reduces soil erosion, and can economically enhance local communities by stimulating quail hunting and wildlife viewing. Items found here include information about quail, quail hunting, habitat restoration, the Bobwhite Quail Initiative, landowner assistance programs and practices, research and publications/articles.
