How to Register a Vessel
PRINT a Mail-in Vessel Registration application. Applications are not available at stores or marinas.
- NEW registration is for any vessel not registered in Georgia. Brand NEW vessels must include the Manufacturers Statement of Origin (MSO) and a bill of sale. Out of State Vessels see below.
- TRANSFER registration is used to transfer the ownership of a current Georgia registration to a new owner in Georgia. Transfers must include a bill of sale from the previous registered owner or the previous owners registration card must be included with the bill of sale.
- TRANSFER and RENEWAL registration, must include transfer documents listed above and payment to renew the registration for three more years.
- RENEWAL registration is to renew the current vessel with the same owner. May be done online or by phone. A renewal coupon will be mailed out with 60 days of expiration for you to renew by mail.
How to Register a Vessel coming from another State:
- This is a NEW registration for Georgia.
- Must complete and submit the mail in application
- Must submit a Bill of Sale.
- Must include the Original Title if vessel is coming from a Title State.
- Must include the previous owners registration card if not coming from a Title State.
