Here you will find rare species and natural community data mainatained by our section. Our protected species lists conatain species protected at both the state and the federal level. Our special concern lists include federally protected, state protected and other rare or imperiled plants, animals, and natural communities tracked by the Nongame Conservation Section.
Our plant watch list [8] contains plant species of lesser conservation concern. These are species for which we are gathering information but not adding population locations to the databases. None of these species are protected so they do not have data columns for state and federal protection. For printable PDF version see the following.
Now available are PDF versions of our Special Concern Animal List [9], Special Concern Plant List [10] and Plant Watch List [11]. These are formatted to save paper when printing. Updated March 2011.
Lists in Web (HTML) tables on this site and many other Web sites can easily be converted into database tables. Copy and paste (or open) the Web page containing the list into into MS Excel. In Excel select the rows and columns you want to convert into a database table. Make sure to select the header row with the field names (remember dbase field names must only be 10 characters long). Use "File/Save As" to save the data into dBASE IV format. Most (if not all) databases can import dBase IV files as database tables.
You can also use ODBC to link your database to the excel table if it is set up like a database table.
Contact information for our staff can be found in the NatureServe Network Staff Directory [16].
